Solukhumbu’s local units rescue over 4,500 from Kathmandu

SOLUKHUMBU: Various local units of Solukhumbu district have taken back more than 4,500 people from Kathmandu Valley in five days.

Thulung Dudh Koshi Rural Municipality has rescued 1,198 people while Sotang Rural Municipality has rescued 299 from Kathmandu.

The people stranded in the Kathmandu Valley due to a month-long lockdown were rescued, Abiral Rai, Chief Administrative Officer of Thulung Dukhoshi Rural Municipality said.

According to Dupha Kumar Bastola, Chairman at Necha Salyan Rural Municipality, 596 people have taken back to home from Kathmandu.

Likewise, Mapya Dudh Koshi Rural Municipality has rescued 570 people while Mahakulung 476, Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality 320, and Likhu Pike Rural Municipality has rescued 300 people.
