Final report of Butwal’s isolation patient is negative for COVID-19



BUTWAL: The second coronavirus test report of a person who had died amidst the isolation care at Butwal-based Corona Special Temporary Hospital on Sunday has also come negative.

The deceased is 34-year-old Baburam Thapa Chhetri, a permanent resident of Palpa.

According to Lumbini State Hospital’s medical superintendent Dr. Rajendra Khanal, the second and final report of the test of his swab sample also came negative.

The test was conducted at the National Public Health Laboratory, Teku, Kathmandu.

He was a foreign migrant worker and had returned home on March 19. He had mild fever upon the arrival and had stayed at his rented home at Sainamaina municipality-4. He had reportedly had a mild fever while in Dubai.

He had visited a local medical hall, then the Murgiya-based health post and finally the State Hospital last Friday as the fever continued and had been admitted to the isolation ward as per doctor’s advice.

He died on Sunday afternoon due to breathing complications. His swab sample was sent to Teku on Sunday morning.

His body has been kept at the State Hospital’s mortuary and the hospital is preparing to hand it to the family.
