COVID-19: NA helps build 13-bed quarantine in Tanahun



TANAHUN: The Nepal Army (NA) has helped build a 13-bed quarantine facility at Parashar Primary School at Byas Municipality-5 in Tanahu district to prevent a possible outbreak of COVID-19.

As many as 10 NA personnel working in the Kalibhanjyang Battalion engaged their labor and logistic support for the quarantine set up on the premises of the school, informed Byas Municipality-5 ward chair, Mohan Kumar Shrestha.

According to Shrestha, those suspected to have contracted COVID-19 would be quarantined in the facility built with tents. Ex-army club and local town development organization will provide a meal to those kept at quarantine.

The Municipality has maintained the record of foreign returnees and has been urging them to keep themselves in self-isolation to contain the possible outbreak of the deadly infection.

Among the seven foreign returnees in ward no 5, two have been quarantined while five have been asked to stay at their home safely.

Furthermore, the Municipality had ordered every ward to build a quarantine facility. Ward chair Shrestha urged one and all to comply with the lockdown enforced by the government all over the country to stem the spread of COVID-19.

Apart from quarantine, the Municipality here has set up a separate room at Apollo Hospital at Byas Municipality-3 to conduct test on cases of common cold and flu, informed Apollo Hospital, Chief Chudamani Dahal.
