COVID-19 suspect dies at Patan Hospital; swab sent to Teku



KATHMANDU: Preparations to screen the swab is underway after a patient has died while undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Patan Hospital.

The person, who was admitted to the ICU of the hospital after he complained of high fever, died on Sunday night in the course of treatment.

According to sources at Patan Hospital he had been shifted to ICU from the isolation ward after his condition became critical.

Administration Department of Patan has sent his throat swab to National Public Health Laboratory, Teku.

“The deceased had been kept at the isolation ward. His swab was collected and sent to Teku Hospital after coronavirus was suspected as the cause of his death,” Hospital Director Dr Bishnu Sharma told Khabarhub.

Earlier, a person had died while undergoing treatment at Corona Special Hospital in Butwal.

His swab test result, however, has come out to be negative.
