Bangladeshi national murdered at Hotel Grand Villa



KATHMANDU: A Bangladeshi national has been murdered at Hotel Grand Villa in the capital.

Even though 45-year-old Mohiuddin Ahmad was murdered a week ago (January 21), the incident was made public only today.

According to police, Ahmad was a regular customer of the casinos based in Kathmandu.

He usually come to Kathmandu to take part in gambling all the way from Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh, DSP Rugam Kunwar of Metropolitan Police Circle, Kalimati told Khabarhub.

Ahmad had come to Kathmandu on January 20 with a friend named Dullamiya. He is now at large. According to Kunwar he was murdered before reaching the casino. Room No. 114  had been booked in the name of Ahmad.

Ahmad had head and neck injuries, according to a preliminary investigation of the police.

Police have concluded that Dullamiya apparently murdered Ahmad based on a CCTV footage.

Ahmad’s dead body has been handed over to his relatives via Bangladeshi Embassy in Kathmandu.
