NCP will not split: Leader Khanal

ILLAM: Senior leader of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Jhalanath Khanal today said the party would not split under any circumstance.

He also warned of not taking advantage of disputes within the party for a long time, referring to the current row in the party between the party’s two chairmen – Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Executive Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

The leader was laying the foundation stone for the construction of a hospital building in Suryodaya Municipality in Ilam district.

The party is not as weak as media reports, he said, adding, “Weak media people are spreading wrong information about the party. NCP does not split under any circumstance. An ongoing discussion within the party is in favor of party unity and will further strengthen it.”
