If Oli and Prachanda retreat from power, we are ready to take charge

KATHMANDU: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Barsha Man Pun stated that the young generation in the party is ready to take the leadership of the party provided the older generation decided to retreat.

Inaugurating the substation of the hydroelectricity established in Lakuri, Rolpa, Minister Pun said that if both chairmen agreed to handover the leadership to the younger generation, the younger generation is capable of handling the party ahead.

“If both the chairmen agree to hand over the party leadership to us, we are ready to lead the party ahead in line with the party statute and system,” Minister Pun said in the program.

Hinting at the dispute going on in the party he said that despite the relatively tough moments the party is going through now, everything will return to normalcy soon.

“Discussion in the party will neither cause the collapse of the government nor will split the party,” he claimed, adding, “We will take everything to the substantive decision and make the party stronger in the days ahead.”
