BIRATNAGAR: A total of 569 people have been infected with the coronavirus in Province 1 in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Social Development, 223 women and 346 men tested positive in PCR tests of 1,960 samples during the period.

Of the infected, 253 infected are from Morang, including 147 are in Biratnagar, 143 from Jhapa, 112 from Sunsari, 12 from Udayapur, 11 from Ilam, four from Dhankuta, three from Bhojpur, two from Solukhumbu, one each in Panchthar, Khotang and Tehrathum and 26 from outside the Province, according to the Ministry of Social Development.

The number of infected people in the Province has reached 18,953.

As many as 619 people have returned home after recovering in the last 24 hours, taking total recovered cases to 10,798.
