Dahal intensifies meetings as Oli’s intermediaries flock to Khumaltar

KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has intensified internal meetings with the leaders of his faction after Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli sent his intermediaries to Khumaltar to patch up ongoing internal differences of the party.

Dahal has been holding talks with the leaders close to him including  senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, Jhala Nath Khanal, Vice Chairman Bamdev Gautam, Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha among others in the past two days,  said  a leader close to him.

“The time is not favorable for holding a large meeting. Chairman Dahal is holding meetings with the leaders one by one and consulting some leaders over the phone,” said the leader.

Most of those leaders who held meetings with Dahal are of the view that PM Oli has breached the decisions of the Standing Committee (SC) meeting and Secretariat meeting of the party, said the leader.

He further said, “We have sealed various deals with Oli but he did not comply with them, now the time has come again to team up against him.”

Preparations are underway to take a collective decision regarding it, the leader added.

Oli has sent his copper-bottomed leaders – Bishnu Paudel, Subas Nembang and Shankar Pokharel – as intermediaries to Khumaltar in the past two days after Dahal ignored his phone calls.

Boosted by the success to foil Oli’s plot to oust Chief Minister of Karnali Province, it has been learnt, Dahal is preparing to up the ante against Oli with the support of Khanal, Nepal, Gautam and Shrestha yet again.

Oli had called leader Nepal to Baluwatar for two times for the cooperation but latter is not likely to put trust on Oli easily.
