Sanitizer produced by Department of Drugs in high demand



KATHMANDU: Sanitizer produced by the Department of Drugs Administration – a government undertaking — has been in high demand of late.

The product of the Department has witnessed an increasing demand at a time when the sanitizers produced and made available by different companies in the market have been found mixed with poisonous chemicals.

Acting Director General of the Department Bijaya Shree Ratna Bajracharya stated that the daily transaction of sanitizer is around 300,000.

The Department has been producing allopathic drugs such as Cetaplus, Cetamol, Jeevanjal, sanitizer, glycerine and distilled water.

Bajracharya said the sanitizers have been produced since March in keeping with the growing need of the market.

The Department said that the market price of 60 ml sanitizer is Rs 78 while it is Rs 125 for 100 ml; Rs 250 for 200 ml and Rs 450 for 500 ml.
