India sets world record with single-day spike of 79,000 cases

NEW DELHI: In the highest single-day surge recorded in any country so far, India added nearly 79,000 fresh cases to its Covid-19 tally on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the death toll in India had risen to 63,657 with 944 deaths in the last 24 hours.
