Jamaica Tallawahs beats St Kitts and Nevis, Sandeep grabs two wickets



KATHMANDU: Team of Nepali leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane Jamaica Tallawahs thrashed St Kitts and Nevis Patriots by 37 runs in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

Chasing Jamaica’s target of 148 runs, St Kitts managed to get only 110 runs in 19.4 overs losing all wickets. In Jamaica’s victory, Carlos Brathwaite took three wickets for 11 runs in 3.4 overs with one maiden.

Veerasammy Permaul and Sandeep Lamichhane finished with two wickets each.

Earlier, Jamaica scored 147 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs after electing to bat after winning the toss at the Queen’s Park Oval.

Opener Glenn Phillips was unbeaten on 79 runs off 61 balls with two fours and six sixes.

With the win, Jamaica has moved to third place in the points tally with three wins and three losses.
