Ward chair attacked with Khukuri in Dang



DANG: An unidentified group has attacked ward chairman of Ward No. 2 of Shantinagar Rural Municipality, Farsaram Dangi with a khukuri, a Nepali traditional knife, in his office.

According to District Police Office Spokesperson and DSP Sumit Khadka, Dangi has sustained head and hand injuries.

He said a group of four or five people entered the office and attacked him with the weapon.

He has been taken to Rapti Provincial Hospital in Tulsipur for treatment, said Kaman Singh Dangi, chairman of the rural municipality.

Police have recovered leaflets of the Biplav group from the incident site, he said.

He was elected ward chairman from the Nepali Congress.
