Taxi drivers stage demonstration in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: More than 200 taxi drivers on Tuesday morning staged a demonstration in Kathmandu demanding the government to allow them to operate.

Taxis have not been allowed to ply even though the government has allowed private vehicles, particularly cars and motorbikes, to ply the roads since the third week of June.

Taxi drivers have been saying that they would maintain safety measures if they are allowed to operate.

According to the, the decision to bar them from operating has put the lives of taxi drivers at stake.
