NC asks Health Minister to expand scope of PCR tests



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) has asked Health Minister Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal to expand the scope of PCR tests in the country.

Leaders of the main opposition party, NC, drew Minister Dhakal’s attention towards the government’s failure to ensure effective prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic at a time when the number of coronavirus cases has been increasing every day.

NC leaders, led by Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, met Minister Dhakal at the Ministry of Health and Population this morning and urged him to expand the scope of PCR testing.

They also urged the minister to well manage the quarantine facilities and ensure nutritious food to people there.

The NC leaders also talked about managing at least one ambulance in every municipality and rural municipality.

They also asked the minister to mobilize health workers and lab technicians to all the local bodies.

NC leaders also raised the issue of financial irregularities while procuring medical supplies.
