Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll reaches 7



KATHMANDU: Nepal’s death toll from coronavirus has reached seven on Saturday after a man staying at a quarantine died.

His swab sample was sent to Karnali Academy of Health Sciences, Jumla and the report came positive for coronavirus, according to the Social Development Ministry of Karnali Province.

The 35-year-old man from Dullu Municipality-11 who had recently returned from India had passed away this morning after having breakfast.

Although his swab was collected three days before, the report came only today.

Earlier, the country had reported six deaths — a 25-year-old man from Banke, a 29-year-old woman from Sindhupalchowk, a 41-year-old man from Gulmi, a 70-year-old man from Bara, and a 57-year-old man from Lalitpur, and a 34-year-old male from Arghakhanchi.

Nepal on Saturday reported 189 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours taking the national tally to 1,401.
