Coronavirus kills 104, 542, infects 1,793,530 in USA



KATHMANDU: America, the worst-hit in terms of both deaths and infection cases, has reported 1,212 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total to 104, 542.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, with 25, 069 new cases, the number of infection cases has surged to 1,793,530 so far.

Currently, 1,169, 419  coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across America, of which 17, 207 are critical.  Meanwhile, 519, 569 have recovered after treatment.

New York is the worst-hit with 29, 751 deaths followed by New Jersey and Massachusetts with 11,536 and 6, 718 deaths, respectively.

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had declared Coronavirus a Public Health Emergency on January 31 in the US.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 213 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 366,418 and infecting 6,026, 375 people as of Saturday morning.
