KATHMANDU: The Government of Japan has conferred Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel with the 2020 Spring Imperial Decoration.
Poudel will receive the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun.
Japan on Wednesday announced the foreign recipients of the 2020 Spring Imperial Decorations.
A statement issued by the Embassy of Japan in Kathmandu said Poudel is among this year’s foreign recipients.
Poudel has been conferred with the title in recognition of his contributions towards strengthening the relationship between Japan and Nepal.
NC leaders Poudel had established the Japan Nepal Friendship Parliamentarian League in 1999 when he was the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nepal.
