7.7-magnitude quake hits Caribbean



KATHMANDU: A powerful earthquake with 7.7 on the Richter scale has struck in the Caribbean, BBC reported.

The quake hit between Jamaica, the Cayman Islands and Cuba at a depth of 10 km, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said on early Wednesday.

Tremors were felt across the Caribbean but no casualties have been reported so far.

Some offices were temporarily evacuated in Miami and parts of Jamaica.
