KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index increased by 5.57 points on the third trading day of the week on Tuesday to close at 2,012.89 points.
Although the overall market has increased, the share price of most companies fell.
Shares of the companies in the manufacturing, microfinance, non-life insurance and others sub-indices increased, while all other sub-indices in the stock market declined.
Banking declined by 9.70 points, while development banks fell by 18.95 points. Similarly, trade declined by 3.22 points, hotel by 4.54 points, hydropower by 18.72 points, and finance by 2.15 points.
The transaction amount has been limited to Rs 4 billion. A total of eight million shares of 209 companies have been traded 37,916 times resulting in a turnover of 4.92 billion.
