Mercury dips across country, Jumla records minus 2.5 degrees Celsius



KATHMANDU: Temperature has dropped across the country. A thick fog has blanketed some parts of the Terai and snowfalls have occurred in the high hills and mountains.

The minimum temperature in Kathmandu Valley has been measured at 4.8 degree Celsius on Sunday morning.

Earlier on Saturday, the lowest temperature of the year was recorded at 4.5 degrees Celsius.

The temperature in Kathmandu will rise to 22 degrees Celsius this afternoon, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

The temperature in Jumla has dropped to minus 2.5 degrees Celsius.

MFD has stated that the weather will be partly cloudy in Karnali Province and Sudurpaschim Province and mainly fair in the rest of the country.

In a weather bulletin issued for Sunday, it said that the weather will be mainly fair throughout the country tonight.

Meanwhile, MFD has requested to take necessary precautions as there is a possibility of a drop in air temperature in many parts of the country and a lack of visibility in the morning in Terai.
