Focus on sustaining business, NRB governor Adhikari tells banks

KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) on Tuesday held an interaction program with the Chairpersons of the Board Of Directors of banks and financial institutions on the policy arrangements mentioned in the Unified Directive, 2077 BS and current affairs of the financial and banking sector.

The Bank and Financial Institutions Regulation Department organized the program through a webinar with the participation of the Chairpersons of the Board of Directors of Class A, B and C banks and financial institutions.

On the occasion, Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari said that the central bank has issued the monetary policy to make the economy affected by the COVID-19 dynamic and requested the Chairpersons of the steering committees of banks and financial institutions to assist in the implementation of the policy.

Governor Adhikari said, “Banks and financial institutions should not be profitable at this time. Focus on sustaining your business.”
