COVID-19: Province 1 records 122 new cases, three deaths

MORANG: A total of 122 fresh coronavirus cases have been recorded in Province 1 in the last 24 hours.

Among the new cases on Tuesday, 86 are in Morang, 19 in Sunsari, eight in Jhapa, two in Tehrathum, one each in Bhojpur, Udayapur and Ilam and four from outside the province.

According to the Ministry of Social Development, 61 people have been infected in Biratnagar. Of those infected, 29 are women and 32 are men.

Five men have been infected in Katahari of Morang, one woman and three men in Gramthan, two men in Sundaraharaicha, one woman in Urlabari, one man in Sunbarshi and two women and ten men have been infected at undisclosed local levels.

Similarly, two women and five men in Sunsari’s Dharan, one woman and four men in Itahari, one woman and three men in Duhabi and three men from undisclosed local levels have been found infected.

According to the Ministry, the infection has been diagnosed in three men each in Damak and Bhadrapur of Jhapa, one man in Arjundhara, one woman in Nakhule, two men in Tehrathum, one man each in Bhojpur and Udayapur, one man in Mai Municipality of Ilam and one woman and three men outside Province 1.

With the new cases, the coronavirus tally in the province has reached 6,641.

Similarly, 166 people were discharged, while three deaths were recorded. One man each from Jhapa, Morang and Sunsari succumbed to the pandemic.
