Indian Army to recruit Nepalis



KATHMANDU: The Indian Army is planning to recruit a significant number of Nepali citizens into its force amid tensions between India and China of late.

The Indian Air Force has started pre-registration for different posts in the army as it has called for admissions from unmarried people for Airmen Group X, Group y and Group Y Non-technical trade from the Indian states of Karnataka, Orissa, Gujarat, Bihar, Hariyana and Rajasthan.


Nepalis, too, are eligible for the posts.

India, meanwhile, has always praised the role of the Gorkha soldiers in the country.

It should be noted that former Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Manjeev Singh Puri, has said India would supplement from among the Gorkha community in India if if Nepal disagreed to supply Gorkhas to India.
