As caseload rises, officials planning measures against coronavirus

BHAKTAPUR: With the rapid rise in the coronavirus infection, the authorities here have upped preparations to contain the virus.

The local levels have forwarded the plans for widening the scope of the testing, developing quarantine facilities and isolation centers.

Lawmaker of Bhaktapur-2 Mahesh Basnet said that plan of actions was drafted by holding talks with the district disaster management committee, district coordination committee, municipalities and security bodies.

At least 2,000 beds of quarantine facilities would be made in the district and some beds would be readied in Sanothimi and Bode by Saturday.

He shared that at least 2,000 individuals would be tested for the coronavirus from each municipality.

Chief District Officer of Bhaktapur Hum Kala Pandey said that asymptomatic cases have been kept in the 208-bed quarantine facility of Kharipati-based Nepal Electricity Authority building.
