NSC Member-Secretary Silwal sworn-in



KATHMANDU: The newly-appointed Member Secretary of National Sports Council (NSC), Ramesh Kumar Silwal has been sworn in to office on Wednesday.

Amid the oath taking ceremony organized to facilitate the swearing in of Silwal, Minister for Youths and Sports Jagat Bahadur Sunar (Bishwakarma) administered the oath to reappoint Silwal.

Earlier, Silwal was appointed the Member Secretary of NSC on July 8, 2019.

However, after the promulgation of new Sports Development Act, 2020, on July 2, the tenure of Silwal had come to an end.

Member Secretary Silwal has the success story of organizing the long-postponed South Asian Games (SAG) in a short period after his appointment.

He had also played a key role in resolving the long-going dispute in the Cricket Association of Nepal and getting the International Cricket Council’s (ICC’s) sanctions lifted.
