KATHMANDU: Newly-elected lawmaker of Janata Samajwadi Party, Lila Devi Sitaula has taken oath of office and secrecy today.

Speaker of House of Representatives, Agni Prasad Sapkota administered oath of office and secrecy to Sitaula at 1 pm.

Sitaula was next to the closed list of lawmakers under the proportional representation (PR) submitted to the Election Commission by the Party.

The EC on Monday elected Sitaula to the post in line with the closed list.

The post had been vacant after the Samajwadi Party expelled Sarita Giri for going against the party’s whip issued for the constitution amendment proposal.
