210 new cases take Nepal’s COVID-19 tally to 19,273

KATHMANDU: Nepal has reported 210 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, with the addition of the cases, total cases in Nepal have reached 19,273 as of Wednesday afternoon.

Speaking at a regular press briefing, Spokesperson at the Ministry, Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said 6,034 samples have been tested through PCR in the past 24 hours.

The new cases were detected in Kathmandu, Nawalparasi (East), Rautahat, Saptari, Baglung, Syangja, Myagdi, Tanahun, Surkhet, Baitadi, Doti, Kailali and Kanchanpur, Morang, Sunsari, Saptari, Sarlahi, Dhanusa, Mahottari, Parsa, Bhaktapur, Dhading, Kapilvastu.

Meanwhile, 146 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in various health facilities across the nation were discharged in the last 24 hours after recovering from the virus. With this, 14,021 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from hospitals and isolation centers after recovery across the country so far.

At present, 5,203 people are in isolation and 15,331 are in various quarantines.

Nepal has reported 49 death so far, Spokesperson Dr. Gautam said.
