Four more cops at Nepal Police HQ test positive for COVID-19

KATHMANDU: Four more police personnel working at the Nepal Police Headquarters have been infected with the COVID-19.

Nepal Police central Spokesperson DIG Niraj Bahadur Shahi said that four more policemen tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday.

With this, the number of infected police officials at the Nepali Police headquarters has reached 35.

All the infected have been admitted to APF Hospital in Balambu.

Shahi further said that the newly infected people confirmed today had come in contact with the previously infected persons. They are working as drivers, mechanics, and mess workers at the headquarters.

It is still unknown how the coronavirus infection spread to the headquarters.

According to Shahi, the infection was initially confirmed when some staff members were sent for testing after showing signs of fever.
