Firing as NCP cadres clash with NC cadres in Sarlahi

KATHMANDU: Cadres of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) and main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) have clashed with each other at Dhankaul rural municipality of Sarlahi district.

A sound of gunshot was also heard during the scuffle. Some cadres sustained shrapnel injuries in the fire.

Confirming the gunshot during the clash, SP Bishmani Pokharel, chief of District Police Office, Sarlahi, said they are carrying out an investigation into the case.

“As many as 12 people sustained injuries,” said Pokharel, adding, “Some of them have sustained shrapnel injuries.”

An NCP cadre was murdered in Ramnagar rural municipality in Sarlahi district one week ago. Demonstrations had taken place to protest the murder in various places of the district yesterday, according to police.
