Over 300 Nepalis stranded in US appeal for rescue



KATHMANDU: Nepali nationals stuck in the United States of America due to COVID-19 have appealed to the government for their rescue.

They have been stranded due to lockdown enforced by the country to stem the novel virus spread.

Batas organization headquartered in Pokhara has been collecting the number of Nepali nationals stranded in America.  Executive Director of Batas organization Shanta Raj Batas has urged the government to rescue them.

“We bear fare expenses on our won and stay in quarantine. We want the government only to create environment for our return,” said Batas, adding that he has already asked Nepali Embassy in America to this end.

Over 300 Nepali nationals who had gone to America on different visas have been stranded in the country due to Coronavirus.
