America reports 56, 649 deaths, 1,008, 043 infection cases



KATHMANDU: America, the worst-hit in terms of both deaths and infection cases, has reported  56, 649 deaths after 1, 236 died in the last 24 hours as of Tuesday morning.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, with 20, 883 new cases, the number of infection cases has surged to 1,008, 043.

Currently, 812, 655 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across America, of which the condition of 14, 175 is critical.  Meanwhile, 137, 739 have recovered after treatment.

New York is the worst-hit with 22, 612 deaths followed by New Jersey and Michigan with 6, 044 and 3, 407 deaths, respectively.

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had declared Coronavirus a Public Health Emergency on January 31 in the US.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 210 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 211,202 and infecting 3,059,081 people as of Tuesday morning.
