KATHMANDU: A wide-body aircraft of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has left for China to bring necessary medical supplies including COVID-19 test kits and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
According to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, NAC Airbus 330 left for Guangzhou of China at 12:31 pm.
The aircraft is scheduled to land at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) at around 1 am on Sunday.
Two captains, two co-pilots, one flight dispatcher, one engineer, one technician, one loadmaster and two air hostesses are on board the aircraft.
China has also offered to provide the necessary medical equipment in a grant.
According to the source, the materials will be distributed to different places of the country by Nepal Army helicopters the same day.
Nepal is likely to bring Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), viral transport medium (VTM), PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test kits, N95 masks, among others.
