KATHMANDU: Kathmandu wore a deserted look on the fifth day of the nation-wide lockdown effective from Tuesday to combat the coronavirus.

People have been told to stay indoors and not to come out of their houses except for emergency cases. With the lockdown taking effect, the Kathmandu Valley is wearing a deserted look.

Vehicles have stayed off the road while commuters are not visible on the pavements in the capital. Police are seen interrogating even those coming out of the houses for emergency cases.

Kathmandu skies have cleared and air quality has also improved as there has no pollution due to the halt of transportation and other activities.
