Doti locals take to free abortion service as contraceptives

DOTI: It has been found that locals of Doti district have been taking safe abortion service as a temporary means of contraceptives.

A total of 18 health institutes have been providing reproductive health service in collaboration with Ipas Nepal and Community Development Forum (CDF) in Doti district.

The number of people taking this service has increased after the reproductive health service was started in free of cost of late, said Dr Raju Gurung of a Durgamadau Health Post in K I Singh rural municipality-4.

He said, “Women started coming to take the service almost every month after the free abortion service was started in the community.” “This is a serious case ANM Gita Bhatta said that the number of couple having sexual intercourse without contraceptives and coming for abortion service has drastically gone up.
