KATHMANDU: The Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) has said that the expenses made by Nepal would not be paid back unless all the terms and conditions laid down in the compact are followed in a letter and spirit.

Meanwhile, the MCC has asked the Nepal government to complete the remaining task of the agreement at the earliest.

The government has already initiated the project by establishing an office for the implementation of the MCC grant assistance of US $500 million.

The MCC project assistance is being implemented through the Millennium Challenge Account Nepal (MC-A) under the Ministry of Finance.

The MC-A Nepal has been spending on its own in the course of project implementation and running the office. Earlier, the government had sent a letter to the MCC asking for US $10 million.
