NEPSE index up by 8.57 points



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index increased by 8.57 points on Monday to reach 2007.29 points.

Of the 12 sub-indices, shares of three sub-indices have declined. The trade sub-index declined by 48.65 percent, hotels by 10.29 percent, and others by 0.98 percent.

Shares of the production sub-index rose by 95 points, while that of non-life insurance rose by 75 points.

Similarly, shares of life insurance rose by 29 points, banking by nine points, hotel by three points, and microfinance by six points.

As many as 7,497,384 shares of 214 companies were traded 36,245 times till the last trading session, resulting in a turnover of Rs 3.85 billion.
