NC accuses PM Oli of covering up corruption cases

KATHMANDU: The main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) has urged Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to study the report of Transparency International.

In a statement issued on Saturday, NC said that the latest report of Transparency International has finally confirmed the assessment of the party that corruption has increased in the country since the formation of the current government and the Prime Minister himself has protected it.

The statement by Spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma said it was unfortunate that Nepal was at the forefront of corruption in Asian countries in the last year.

Considering the serious impact it has had on Nepal’s image in the international arena, the main opposition party has stated that it was imperative for the ruling party to make its institutional views public.

The party has accused the Prime Minister of forgetting the dignity of his position by saying ‘I don’t even look at the face of the corrupt’, but ‘covering up many cases of corruption’.
