Tatopani transit point reopens

CHAUTARA: The Tatopani transit point between Nepal-China has reopened formally from Wednesday.

Earlier, the transit was reopened on October 5 after it was closed for three months due to flooding.

The Chinese side had closed the transit on October 6 citing detection of COVID-19 infection in some Nepali employees.

Lorries would enter into Nepal only on Thursday although the transit resumed after meeting health guidelines following an agreement between Nepal and China, said Lal Bahadur Khatri.

The Chinese side would bring goods at the customs office in Nepal, and Nepali workers are required to transport goods across the border.
