Weeklong prohibitory order in Miklajung after community transmission

PANCHTHAR: Miklajung Rural Municipality has issued a prohibitory order for a week after the coronavirus spread at the community level. Six persons from Rabi of Miklajung-4 tested positive for the coronavirus of late.

With this, the prohibitory order is enforced till November 3. Rural Municipality Chairperson Amarraj Makhim informed the public issuing a notice. He urged everyone not to move out of home except for emergency work.

However, the supply of daily essentials as medicine and milk continues unobstructed. All dwellers in the community are urged to maintain special alertness.

According to the health section chief at the rural municipality, Agni Chamlagain, a woman reaching Rabi from Damak of Jhapa on October 20 tested positive for the coronavirus. Similarly, her son and three other woman and a man who came in her contact tested positive for the coronavirus.

Among six persons, one has witnessed fever and symptoms of COVID-19. Two of them have been receiving treatment at the Primary Health Centre of Rabi.

This is the first time Panchthar district recorded community transmission of coronavirus.
