ACHHAM: Deputy mayor (DM) of Rama Roshan rural municipality Saraswati Rawal has padlocked the municipality office demanding equity and justice for her.

Deputy mayor and the chairperson of the judicial committee of Rama Roshan rural municipality, Rawal padlocked the municipality office complaining that her rights have been curtailed by the mayor and the executive committee.

Issuing a press release on Wednesday, DM Rawal said that she took to protest as the rural municipality authority barred her from exercising her rights as laid down in the local government act.

“The rural municipality has breached the laws, regulations and the policies prepared as per the local governance act,” DM Rawal has stated in the release, “the rights of the DM has been curtailed so as to make the whimsical decisions of the mayor go unhindered.”
