KATHMANDU: The Central Committee (CC) meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) scheduled for October 31 is likely to be postponed.
The possibility of the adjournment of the meeting is likely since top NCP leaders have not started discussing issues yet.
The other factor responsible for the postponement is the COVID-19 which is gripping the Kathmandu Valley in an unprecedented manner, of late.
However, no official decision has been taken to adjourn the meeting even though only three days are left before the scheduled meeting to kick off.
“The top NCP leaders have been engaged in other issues including Karnali dispute among others, of late. The agendas for the upcoming CC meeting have not yet been finalized,” said a CC member, adding, “There is a possibility that the scheduled CC meeting will be postponed.”
A 447-member jumbo CC of the ruling NCP has not taken place for a long time despite its demand from the concerned party leaders.
The CC meeting scheduled for October 31 is supposed to discuss and endorse the work-plan on the party’s coming general convention.
