COVID-19 infected Parsa health worker dies in Kathmandu

BIRGUNJ: A COVID-19 infected health worker of Parsa died while undergoing treatment at Karuna Hospital in Kathmandu.

According to Jayamod Thakur, Public Health Supervisor of District Health Office, Parsa, a 58-year-old Senior Assistant Health Worker working in Jagarnathpur Rural Municipality died on Monday morning.

Thakur stated that the deceased was receiving treatment on a ventilator.

The man had shown the symptoms on September 5 and first admitted to Chandrakala Hospital Janakpur. After finding no improvement in health, he was again rushed to Kathmandu on September 17.

According to the relatives of the deceased, the man was denied admission to TU Teaching Hospital citing insufficient beds.

After that, the helpless relatives had rushed and admitted him to Karuna Hospital. His PCR was tested on September 21 and was on a ventilator at the hospital since September 23.
