Woman dies of COVID-19 in Banke



BANKE: A woman under home isolation has succumbed to the coronavirus pandemic in Kohalpur.

With the death, Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll has reached 482. However, the Ministry of Health and Population is yet to confirm the death officially.

According to Ram Bahadur Kurumbang, the Chief District Officer of Banke, the woman who had been living in home isolation after found coronavirus positive on September 22 died Monday afternoon while being rushed to the Kohalpur-based Medical College.

According to CDO Kurumbang, the 76-year-old woman had some complications related to gallstone as well.

With this, the number of coronavirus death cases of people who came for treatment in Banke has reached seven till date.

Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, the Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population, said that there have been four cases of coronavirus death in the last 24 hours.

The deceased are two males and two females, said Spokesperson Dr. Gautam said at a regular press briefing earlier today.

He said that a 47-year-old man in Banke and a 34-year-old man in Gulmi, a 38-year-old woman in Sunsari and a 51-year-old woman in Bhaktapur died of the coronavirus.

Earlier on Sunday, Nepal had recorded ten deaths from the pandemic.

Meanwhile, the country on Monday recorded a total of 1,351 new cases of coronavirus infection while 742 infected ones got complete recovery from the virus, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.
