Fugitive murder-convict held after 34 years



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested an absconding murder-convict Purpa Tamang of Lishankhupakhar rural municipality after 34 years.

Phurpa had killed 24-year-old Joglal Tamang when he was coming to take part in a fair in Dandapakhar Bazaar on October 6, 1986.

District Court, Sindhupalchowk had convicted him of murder.

A police squad deployed from District Police Office, Sindhupalchowk and Police Post, Lamosanghu arrested him on Sunday, informed DSP Prakash Sapkota.
