13 out of 34 COVID-19 cases in Kapilvastu have no travel history

BUTWAL: Kapilvastu’s coronavirus case on Tuesday has hinted that there could be COVID-19 case at the community level as 13 out of 34 coronavirus cases in the district have been the ones sans travel history.

According to District Health Office Kapilvastu sources, only 21 out of 34 new cases of coronavirus in the district are foreign-returnees languishing in quarantines.

“Out of 34 cases that tested coronavirus positive on Tuesday, 21 have been the foreign returnees whereas 13 cases are sans travel history,” Kumar Thapa, the corona focal person at District Health Office said, “All new cases are from Shiva Raj Municipality.”

He informed that out of Tuesday’s 34 cases, 28 are males and 6 females.

As many as 84 swabs were collected from different places of Shiva Raj Municipality out of which 34 tested COVID-19 positive.

With Tuesday 34 cases, the number of coronavirus cases in the district has reached to 796.

According to Thapa, the Health Office is mulling over wider community level PCR test soon.
