Brother, sister killed, mother injured in Baglung landslide



BAGLUNG:  Two people of a family died and another sustained critical injuries after their house crumbled due to a landslide triggered by incessant rains in Baglung district.

The deceased have been identified as 13-year-old Khem Bahadur Rasaili and 11-year-old Rita Rasaili, the son and daughter of Pan Bahadur Rasaili of Tamankhola rural municipality-2, Kholeswang, informed Joklal Budha Magar , chairman of  the rural municipality.

Pan Bahadur’s wife  Hom Kumari, 34, has sustained critical injuries in the incident. Currently, Pan Bahadur is in Saudi Arabia for foreign employment.

The landslide buried their house while they were sleeping on Monday night, Health Division Coordinator of Tamankhola rural municipality said.

The injured is receiving treatment at Burtibang Primary Health Center, said Chhantyal.

The landslide has also partially damaged 68-year-old Fulmaya Kami’s house in the rural municipality.
