Coronavirus infects 23,579 in a single day in Brazil

KATHMANDU: Coronavirus infection cases have crossed 2.4 million in Brazil in the last seven months.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, the death toll has reached 87, 679 after 627 new deaths were reported.

With new 23,579 cases in a single day, the number of infection cases has surged to 2,443,480 so far.

Currently, 688,134 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 8,318 are critical. Meanwhile, 1,667,667 have recovered after treatment.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China on December 31, 2019, the coronavirus pandemic has spread to 213 countries including two international conveyances, killing 655,865 and infecting 16,629,212 people across the world.
