KATHMANDU: Reconstruction of historic and archeological heritages have continued even during lockdown.

In today’s meeting of the parliamentary International Relations Committee under the House of Representatives on the work progress of current fiscal year and action plan of coming fiscal year of Department of Archeology, the Department shared that construction activities except some projects of archeological heritages protection have been continued.

Director General Damodar Gautam said that reconstruction of 410 heritages has completed and works are on to complete the reconstruction of heritages at remaining places.

A total of 920 heritages of 31 districts were damaged from earthquake.

He said that the Reconstruction Authority allocated more than Rs 1 billion for the reconstruction and protection of heritages while the government allocated Rs 380 million for the same.
