Heavy rainfall predicted at some places for today



KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has warned of heavy rainfall at some places of the country on Sunday.

In a weather bulletin issued for today, the met office said that there are chances of heavy rainfall at one or two places of the Province 1, Province 2, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province and Province 5.

Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at many places of the country, it stated.

Currently, the monsoon is affecting the country and the monsoon low-pressure line is close to Nepal, said the met office.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder in many places across the country and heavy rain with thunder/lightning in a few places in Province 1, Province 2, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province and Sudurpaschim Province incoming 24 hours.

Therefore, it is requested to take necessary precautions as water flow in the rivers of these areas may increase, soil erosion may occur, landslides may occur, road and air transport may be affected and flooding may occur in areas where sewage/water is not well-drained, MFD said.
